Coomba creates live loops using traditional and contemporary instruments, relying heavily on traditional world percussion and electronic mediums to create sonic landscapes of audio imagery.

The main focus is on the Persian Santur (Hammered Dulcimer) with its unique, rich, expansive sound, accompanied by exotic baselines and lush percussive grooves.

Based in Sydney, Coomba has played Drums and Percussion for almost thirty years. Travelling to twenty-nine different countries, he has studied and performed, drums/percussion in twelve of those countries and has played in countless bands and percussion troupes touring around Australia including ‘Extended Family’, ‘Lahara’ and ‘Anything But Roy’.

In October 2017 Coomba will release his debut Single.

The music is inspired by travel stories and experiences that have been gathered up during life and spread over the aural spectrum of the last two years.
